Whether we are acting on behalf of the landlord or tenant, we often find that the Tenant has not realised the implications of the lease until it is too late. We have put together a series of guides to discuss some of the aspects which a tenant should be well-versed in.  The guides are not exhaustive, and are not intended as self-help guides however, they are intended to expose the depth and at the very least allow a moment’s thought on the implications of a lease.

A lease is a contract in which a tenant’s focus is usually (and understandably), on the rent.  However, at the end of the lease the details of the contract, and failure to perform correctly, can dwarf the rent paid over the term of the lease.

Understanding some of the fundamental aspects of a lease would aid a tenant, possibly changing the choice of building, but certainly prepare them and their businesses for the responsibilities that may be close at hand.
