Size: 1,620sqm (17,440sqft)

Location: Rotherham

Services: Party Wall (Appointed by the Building Owner)

Sector: Public Sector

Project Requirement

Project Requirements

The Client appointed Dabinett as the Building Owners Party Wall Surveyor to prevent and resolve disputes and manage the relationship between several neighbouring property owners. The project comprises the demolition of a large retail building in the city centre of Rotherham which adjoined and intersects numerous neighbouring properties.

The project is on a demanding timescale and a prompt and accurate response has been necessary to ensure the demolition programme is not disrupted in line with the legal requirements of the Party Wall etc Act.

Project Outcome

Dabinett initially reviewed the proposed demolition works to determine and advise on which sections of the Act would apply and which neighbours required notification.

We issued party wall notices and corresponded with neighbouring property owners and/or their appointed surveyors to ensure that the Party Wall procedure was correctly followed.

We carried out schedule of condition surveys, prepared and agreed party wall awards with all adjoining properties and advised the Client to ensure that the statutory requirements of the act were performed.

We continue to correspond with neighbouring property owners and/or their appointed surveyors until completion of the demolition works at the end of May.
