Case Study:
Listed Building Insurance Assessment With Time Ticking

Project Overview

Dabinett completed an inspection of a Grade II listed building in Marsden. The job was to undertake a building reinstatement cost assessment for insurances purposes.

A swift turnaround to ensure appropriate cover was maintained.  In essence, calculating the value that the property is insured against for a re-build should the worst happen.

Project Requirement

We have completed hundreds of these instructions in the past, however this one was all the more interesting and complex.  With a varierty of special facets, featuring a clock tower, gargoyles, Corinthian columned entrances, scrolled spandrels and bracketed cornices.

Project Outcome

The assessment was quickly completed and took into account the special nature of the building to provide an accurate insurance assessment.

Allowing the insured sum to become out of date, and potentially exposing the insured to being under insured, can have significant problems if an averaging clause is applied.  An example of this can be read about this here.
