Wightwick School

Project Overview

Client: Wightwick Hall School

Size: Various School Buildings within Site Curtilage

Location: Wolverhampton

Services: Condition Report & Pre Planned Maintenance Plan

Sector: Education

Value: N/A

Project Requirement

Dabinett was instructed to carry out a detailed condition survey to identify and quantify repairing liabilities ahead of academy conversion.

In conjunction with our mechanical & electrical subconsultants, Dabinett spent three full days on-site assessing a wide variety of buildings including; Main school building constructed circa 1870; a 1960s concrete framed teaching block; Vocational centre, which formerly housed an indoor tennis court (unique in that the roof at one time was partly formed in a glass dome); converted office (former semi-detached house); semi-detached houses (unrefurbished); recently refurbished coffee shop (formerly the headteachers residence).

Project Outcome

The client received a comprehensive report describing each building with regards to construction and condition. The report was issued complete with annotated photographs and Pre-Planned Maintenance schedule for each building. The PPM was based on a 5 year period and included condition and priority gradings, together with budget costs.
